Maintenance work on the 1.2 km downtown section of the approximately 3 km long flood protection wall in multiple phases between 2022 and 2026.
The „Stone Wall” follows the shoreline of the former Lake Hód, from Bocskai Street to the end of Tarján. Its construction began on June 4, 1879, under the enterprise of architect Sámuel Klein, with mason contractors Sándor Kovács and Pál Sulyok; it was completed in 1881. The bricks were manufactured in the Kovács Brick Factory. It is a unique sight among the cities of the Great Plain and has been under historic monument protection since 1958.
